RESURFACING work is to be carried out on a stretch of the A9 between Latheron and Thurso starting next week.

Scotland TranServ is to carry out £200,000 of essential carriageway maintenance on a section of the trunk road at Bullimore.

The work is expected to start on Monday and last for two weeks.

In order to carry out the resurfacing work, the road will be reduced to one lane with a convoy system in operation to allow safe passage.

To minimise the impact on weekend traffic the works will be carried out Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm.

Outwith working hours and throughout the weekends, traffic management will be lifted to assist the easy flow of traffic.

Site staff will take into account ferry sailing times in operating the convoy system.

Local access will be maintained as far as possible and emergency services will have unrestricted access at all times.

Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works.
