Residents, visitors and staff at a far north care home donned festive jumpers to help a children’s charity.

Pentland View Care Home in Thurso held the fundraising event on Christmas Jumper Day, December 9, for Save the Children.

All residents and staff at Pentland View were encouraged to buy, borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and donate to Save the Children.

Jeanine Sinclair from the care home said: “While we may be biased, everyone looked fantastic while spreading festive cheer. The home raised £60 for Save the Children, collected via their own web link for the cause and also a unique text code created especially for donations from Pentland View.

“This is enough to provide children in the UK and abroad with warm clothes and shoes, school supplies, and even food this Christmas.

“This event has really showcased the generosity and festive spirit of all our residents, families and staff. We are proud to take part in Christmas Jumper Day and show our support for Save the Children.

“Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.”

Pentland View Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers. Pentland View provides nursing and respite care.
