YOUNGSTERS at Reay Youth Club are set to enjoy another year of fun activities thanks in part to a festive raffle.
The event saw a battery-operated John Deere Gator toy on offer, with the alternative of £300 in cash, plus other prizes, raising £1445 for club funds.
A new snow machine set the scene for the draw at the club premises, which was made by local man Eric Sutherland. The winner was Kathleen Gunn from Dunbeath who chose to take the cash prize.
The boost to club funds will help with next year's programme of events, which it is hoped will be kick-started by a National Lottery-funded scheme to fit basketball stands.
At the draw event, youngsters were also able to check out the new PA system including lights, a karaoke machine, DJ mixer, radio mics and a tablet to store music on.
The equipment was bought with grants from the National Lottery (£1131) and Baillie Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund (£250).
Also new was the snow machine that was used at the raffle draw.
The raffle topped a successful year for the youth club.
Earlier in the year the club went on an away day trip which took in Landmark Forest Adventure Park’s Jurassic adventure, Aviemore karting track, trampolining at Infinity in Inverness and a meal at Pizza Hut, which was made possible with assistance of £750 from the Robertson Trust through Youth Scotland and £300 from West Caithness Community Fund with the remaining £550 coming from the club and members.
It is hoped to repeat the experience in 2020.
