Reay driver told to come to Wick court after admitting driving after licence was revoked
A sheriff has ordered a Reay man who drove after his licence was revoked to appear personally before him.
Donald Mackay pleaded guilty by letter at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday and also admitted having no insurance and test certificate.
Police officers had "some intelligence" that the 60-year-old's documents might not be in order and further investigation revealed that his licence had been revoked by licensing authority, the DVLA. The offences occurred on the A836 at Reay, on June 13.
Sheriff Andrew Berry, who observed that Mackay, of The Avenue, Reay, has two previous convictions for drink-driving, commented that he would require to consider a period of disqualification when the accused appears in court on September 15.
