A Reay Beaver Scout has been recognised with the top achievement in his age group.

Max Norwood was presented with his Chief Scout Bronze Award by the commissioner of Scouting in Caithness and Sutherland, Gary Stronach.

Beaver leader Ian Pearson explained that this is the highest award a Beaver Scout can achieve.

"Max has completed a series of challenges which include exploring, trips away, visits to places of interest, helping in the community, crafts, games, helping others, acting and cooking, to name a few," he said.

Reay Beaver Scouts are for all children aged between six and eight years. There are currently spaces at the Reay group for new Beavers. Contact Ian on ian.pearson1@tiscali.co.uk for further information.
