Raymond Bremner elected to chair of Highland Council's Caithness committee

A new chairman has been decided upon to lead the Caithness Area Committee.

Councillor Raymond Bremner, who represents the Wick and East Caithness Ward on Highland Council, was elected at the latest meeting of the group on Wednesday.

He will be supported by two deputes, Cllr Willie Mackay also for the Wick and East Caithness Ward and Cllr Struan Mackie, for Thurso and Northwest Caithness.

Cllr Bremner said: "I would like to thank my ward colleagues for their support and it's a great privilege to serve the people of Caithness.

"We are committed to the important matters of our Caithness community and working hard to try and delver the priorities of the area."
