SIXTH-year pupils in Caithness are due to take part in the Driving Ambition scheme.

The sessions, run by Northern Constabulary, will be staged in Wick on Wednesday and in Thurso High – with pupils from Farr attending – on September 11.

Driving Ambitions provides young drivers with information on a variety of road safety elements, the main aim of which is to encourage them to be safe and responsible learners, drivers and passengers.

It is an informative and interactive roadshow, with inputs from HIFRS, Northern Constabulary, Red Cross, the Highland Council.

This year’s series of events will also feature the seat belt convincer which simulates a low-speed collision and highlights benefits of wearing the safety device.
