Prize of £500 up for grabs at Thrumster community drop-in session
Tannach and District Community Council, in partnership with Foundation Scotland, is holding a community drop-in day in Thrumster village hall where local residents can meet the volunteers carrying out a range of community activities in the area.
Residents will also be able to cast a vote for their favourite group and the winner will be awarded £500 towards their proposed projects.
Eilidh Coll, of Foundation Scotland, says the format will be casual and people should feel free to drop in even if they don’t know any of the groups involved.
There is still an opportunity for other groups in the area to get involved and anyone interested in having a table should get in touch as soon as possible.
Funders and volunteers will be in the hall on Saturday, October 5, from 3pm to 5pm.

The hall will be open again on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday 8th. Although the stalls will be unmanned on these days, visitors will be able to pick up information on the local groups or funding opportunities and will be able to cast an "honesty vote" for their favourite group.
The funders and volunteers will return on Wednesday, October 9, when the votes will be counted. The funders and volunteers will be available again to meet new people and unveil the winning group.
Eilidh said: “This is our first attempt at community funding distribution where the wider community decides who will win the available money. If it goes well the Tannach and District Wind Farm Charitable Trust will continue to work in this way and the opportunities can only grow.”
