Polling stations open as Scotland decides

POLLING stations across Caithness have opened as people in the far north cast their vote on whether Scotland should remain part of the United Kingdom.
Over 20,000 people in Caithness are registered to take part in the independence referendum as 18 polling stations across the county opened at 7am on Thursday morning.
Voters were asked the question Should Scotland Become an Independent Country?
Polling stations will be open until 10pm tonight with the result for the Highland Council area expected to be announced between 3am and 6am on Friday morning.
