Police update on A9 crash today

Police Scotland has released a statement regarding the crash on the A9 today (Tuesday, November 29).

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.45am on Tuesday, 29 November, 2022, police were called to the A9 at Achavanich Farmhouse, near Latheron, following a one-car crash.

“Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is currently closed. Diversions are in place via the A99 to Wick. For motorists travelling to Thurso, the A882 can be taken from Wick, routing back onto the A9.”

Traffic Scotland, Scottish Government’s national transport agency, reported the incident at 12.04pm today and updated its information at 12.21pm.

Its bulletin states: "The A9 at Achavanich is closed in both directions due to a road traffic incident. Road users are advised to use the available diversion and allow extra time for their journey."
