Police seek info on ‘deliberate’ fire at Thurso moors

Police Scotland is investigating what appears to be a deliberate fire on moorland near Thurso on Thursday (May 8).

In a social media post from today, Police Scotland Highland and Islands stated that local officers are “looking for information regarding a deliberate fire at the Thurso Moors near to Provost Sinclair Road”.

The post continued: “This happened at around 2:30pm on 8th May. If you can help with this enquiry please contact us via 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. PS-20240508-2276 reference.”

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said that one appliance was directed to the area at 2.50pm and left the area at 4.15pm after bringing the fire under control.
