Enquiries are continuing to trace missing Thurso man David Budge, Police Scotland confirmed.

The 55-year-old was last seen around 1.10pm on Tuesday, at the Scrabster harbour area, near the ferry terminal.

Mr Budge is described as around 5ft 11in tall, of medium build with short brown hair, and was wearing a high-visibility jacket and trousers and safety work boots.

Earlier this week, the police launched a public appeal in a bid to try and trace him.

Inspector Alasdair Goskirk of Police Scotland said yesterday: "Searches are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen David to get in touch – or, if David sees this appeal, please let us or your family know that you are safe.

“If you can help please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3226 of Tuesday, April 13, 2021."
