Police in Thurso are trying to trace a woman after her dog leapt up and bit a 14-year-old boy.

Officers have issued a description of the dog owner and asked the public for information on the incident.

It happened on Mayfield Road, Mountpleasant, on November 29 at about 3.35 pm

A police spokeswoman said: "A dog on a lead jumped up and bit a passer-by.

"The person walking the dog is described as a female in her 30s, wearing a white coat.

"Anyone who may know the dog's owner or have any information regarding this incident is urged to contact Police on 101, quoting reference number 2394 of the 29th November 2023."

Police said the boy did not require any medical treatment.
