Police are appealing for witnesses following an accident at Haster in which a car collided with a house.

Officers are trying to trace a small black car, possibly a Renault or Nissan, which lost control on a bend on Monday, October 5, at 11.50am.

The driver – who is described as being "of Asian appearance", 30 to 40 years of age, 6ft tall, of slim build and having short black hair – fled the scene without providing his details. He was reported to have been wearing a green/brown tweed jacket.

The vehicle was seen to have significant damage to the rear and was last seen travelling west through Haster towards Thurso on the A882.

Police would like to urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time to check their dashcam footage and contact them on 101 if they have any information, quoting incident number NJ1759/20.
