Police and ambulance aid injured Wick man

Police and ambulance services attended to an injured man in Wick on Friday evening.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service, said: “We received a call at 9.40pm on Friday 7 May to attend an incident at Station Road. One ambulance was sent to the scene and a patient was transported to Caithness General Hospital.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Local police were informed of a man having fallen and banged his head in Station Road, Wick.

"An ambulance was called and there was no further police involvement as this was a medical matter."

Several witnesses saw a "middle-aged man" lying in rough ground along a pathway at Wick riverside at around the same time, together with "blue flashing lights", but the emergency services were unable to confirm if this was the same person.
