Carol Grant opened the 2024 East of Caithness SWI bulb show by reciting a poem she had written on the dedication and joy of participating in the annual event.

Lysette Butler from the Caithness SWI Federation presented the winners' trophies at Wick Assembly Rooms on Saturday.

A spokeswoman said: "It was fabulous to see such a beautiful display of bulbs, floral art, baking and handicrafts by the members, with so much work put into all exhibits. It was also fantastic to see the event so well supported where everyone who came along enjoyed a welcome brew and some delicious baking donated and served by a wonderful team of SWI volunteers."

Judging the bulb exhibits and floral art were Marion Sutherland and Audrey Gunn; the handicrafts and baking were judged by Ruth Manson and Gillian Banks.
