PICTURES: Pirate theme on return to camping for 1st Wick Scout Group
Walking the plank and a quest for chocolate treasure were among the activities at a pirate-themed camp attended by 1st Wick Scout Group.
Watten village hall was the venue over the first weekend in September as the group returned to camping after the long break caused by Covid restrictions.
Group Scout leader Bill Seddon said: "It was the first time the group had had a camp since 2019 so it was great to be back under canvas again. Some of those that took part had earned their first night away badge, and everyone has earned their camping badge along with a group camp badge.
"Events like this cannot happen without the support of all the leaders and parent helpers, so I would just like to say thank-you to everyone who helped make this weekend camp a great success and I am pleased all children enjoyed it."
Eight Beavers, six Cubs, six Scouts and four Explorers took part with ages ranging from six to 17.
The group had been split into teams and had to build a ship from cardboard boxes on the Saturday. They had some small competitive tasks during the weekend and the winning teams then had a chance to guess the lock combination of the treasure chest which contained chocolate.

The Saturday night ended with some songs around the camp fire.
Activities on the Sunday included games of battleships and walk the plank as well as pirate hat and mask-making. The treasure chest was opened by Nebi Senguler after a quiz and all the chocolate treasure was shared out.
