The Terrace in Reay has been given a welcome splash of colour, thanks once again to members of the village youth club and local volunteers.

Reay Youth Club project co-ordinator Don Forbes explained that the flowers were planted during Covid restrictions, and this year's display is even better. Tulips have now taken over from the snowdrops, winter primroses and daffodils which had provided an excellent splash of colour over the past two months.

"These flowers are the work of the youth club and local volunteers who planted them last year along with raspberries that will flourish after the tulips," explained Mr Forbes.

"This was part of the Young Gardeners Project which was highly successful in transforming The Terrace which produced flowers and potatoes gifted to those who could not get out to see them.

"Local youngsters also got fruit and veg boxes to look after last year during Covid restrictions, which are flourishing again this year."

The roadside project is regularly maintained by the local volunteers.
