A Ladies Tipsy Tea Party, organised by Annie Farquhar and Lisa Douglas in Thurso, helped raise well over £5000 for charity.

Held at the Royal British Legion Scotland’s Thurso premises, the special event raised a grand total of £5503.70 for a local dance studio and women’s rugby team.

Eswyl Fell who took many of the pictures reproduced here said: “Annie supplied the food, and Lisa provided the musical entertainment, with the guests having a fantastic time, dancing well into the evening.

“There were party games, and lots of fun and laughter throughout the day. The money raised was split between Caithness Krakens (Caithness Women’s Rugby Club) and NRG Dance to help towards the costs of transport to rugby games and dance competitions.

“Caithness Krakens competed at Murrayfield recently in the final for the National Plate and won. This was an amazing achievement making club history, and taking the first National Plate win to Caithness.

“NRG Dance includes all age groups and abilities in the dance world of freestyle and competes all over the country bringing back many trophies to Caithness.”

Annie and Lisa would like to thank local businesses and the Caithness folk for their donations, and support throughout their fundraising, without which the event would not have been such a success.

The two are hoping to recreate the event again next year, but as yet, no date is planned.
