Thurso's Miller Academy Primary School collected more than £1900 for Macmillan Cancer Support after being "absolutely inundated" with donations for a fundraising event.
It featured a bring-and-buy sale, a raffle and home baking – along with an appearance by popular Caithness entertainer Brandon McPhee who performed some toe-tapping tunes on the accordion.
"The families of Miller Academy supported their school superbly with our Macmillan fundraiser," head teacher Jacqui Budge said.
"We asked our children and families for donations for a bring-and-buy sale, raffle and baking and were absolutely inundated, which was incredibly kind of everyone.
"We were so pleased that local musician Brandon McPhee also came along to play at our afternoon event. This honestly gave the atmosphere such a cheery note, and many of us joined in clapping our hands and tapping our feet to the joyous music."
Groups of primary seven pupils took on roles such as "welcoming team", "sales team" and "tea team".
"Our very polite and responsible P7s carried out their different duties beautifully and all of the staff and I are so proud of them," Mrs Budge said.
"Our school was super-busy, which was just lovely to experience after the lack of socialising that Covid required.
"We are delighted to announce that in the one-and-a-half hours, through the incredible kindness of all of our families, we raised an amazing £1940 for Macmillan.
"I think that tells you so much about our wonderful Miller families, and the staff and I are deeply appreciative of their excellent support. We are arranging to have a handover of this money to a representative from the local Macmillan group as soon as possible."
The Miller event was held last Wednesday, tying in with Macmillan fundraising coffee mornings taking place across the country around that time.
In 2021, Macmillan raised over £11 million through such events and it is hoped that sum will be exceeded this year.
The charity points out: "One in two of us will face cancer, and the money you raise at your coffee morning will help everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can."
