Families were delighted to have a visit from Santa Claus at the weekend with the festive gang scheduled to return on Christmas Eve (Sunday).

The Halkirk Village Council organised lots of festive fun at the Ross Institute last Saturday with proceeds going to the Halkirk Nursery. There were stalls, a raffle, mulled wine, festive food, and much more fun to be had be people of all ages.

The star attraction was Santa's float by the Milton Mob – the Budge's from Milton Farm, Halkirk and their friends.

Santa was Alastair Budge and Mrs Claus was his mum Fiona. The two elves were Mark Budge and Iain MacKenzie. The truck driver was Alec Budge (Fiona's husband). They all clubbed together to buy the sweets that were handed out to the dozens of children. The elves had buckets for a collection.

They plan to slowly drive Santa through the streets of Halkirk on Christmas Eve, so the children can wave as he passes by their homes.
