It was a very special week for 52 little learners and the Early Years staff of Miller Academy, as they moved in to their new Early Learning Centre (ELC) building situated in the primary school grounds.

Low key, Covid friendly celebrations took place in the setting to mark its opening, which included the children walking in from their old nursery buildings up to their brand new one where photos were taken. All wore party clothes and had specially baked cakes and treats for snacks afterwards.

Representatives from local contractor GMR Henderson who built the ELC, joined two of the Miller Academy Parent Council Committee members and two of the school’s management staff to help some of the little learners cut the specially made recycled rainbow ribbon.

Headteacher Jacqui Budge said “We are all so happy with our new learning environments for our children and it is a joy to see them busily engaging in their play within it and in their wonderful outdoor space too. We are very grateful to have this for them and look forward to many happy days of learning there.”
