The public will be able to see special glassware on show at the North Coast Art sale along with other local artists' work this Saturday (April 9).
This event will take place between 11am and 3pm in the Pentland Hotel in Thurso.
One of the exhibitors, glass artist Ian Pearson, will be putting on a display of technical glass. Although Ian works mostly in an artistic direction, he pays tribute to his scientific glass-making training.

Ian said: "We have been told over the last couple of years that we should listen to science, yet what many don’t know is that the creation of scientific glassware is crucial for scientific advancements. This includes the development of a Covid vaccine which would have been impossible without glass.”
Ian further goes on by saying: “This year, 2022 has been recognised by the United Nations as the year of glass and I wanted to promote an unfamiliar type of glass to a wider audience.”
With this in mind, Ian will be giving away copies of an internationally recognised technical glass magazine at the sale. Ian is the current editor of this publication and has been for last thirty years.
There are many other artists exhibiting their work at the sale and will be happy to discuss commissions and provide more details about their creativity.
