The opening took place on Friday morning, before the start of the Easter Holidays, and was attended by pupils and teachers from Keiss and cluster school Bower, along with some parents. The play area featuring a climbing frame, trim-trail and trampoline was financed with a legacy from local woman Myra Anderson, along with donations from Subsea 7, Tesco Bages of Help Scheme, Sinclair Bay Community Council, and the Highland Coastal Community Fund. Rosie Florence, a primary 3 pupil at Keiss, cut the ribbon to officially open the school's new play area and polycrub.

The opening took place on Friday morning, before the start of the Easter holidays, and was attended by pupils and teachers from Keiss and cluster school Bower, along with some parents.

The play area, featuring a climbing frame, trim-trail and trampoline, was financed with a legacy from local woman Myra Anderson, along with donations from Subsea 7, Tesco Bags of Help Scheme, Sinclair Bay Community Council and the Highland Coastal Community Fund.

Children enjoyed the chance to play on the new equipment after it was officially unveiled.

Keiss and Bower head teacher Fraser Thomson said: "The play area will provide a safe and exciting place to play and learn for our children and families. It provides an extension to the fantastic park area that we have here in the village and visitors from far and wide can enjoy the new climbing frame, trim-trail and trampoline.

"The legacy of Myra Anderson and monies dedicated to the school and nursery have played a significant role in helping us build the play area. In doing so, it will enable our pupils to prosper through her legacy.

"These developments are visible features of a shared commitment in continuing to improve our school and nursery. They are a fine example of partnership and community working."
