PICTURES: More Coronation hi-jinks across Caithness

With so much happening across Caithness to mark the coronation last week it wasn’t possible to fit it all in.

So here is a round-up of just some of the other events young and old threw themselves into for the historic occasion.

At Dunbeath Primary and Nursery children received their very own Coronation mugs from Daniel Macleod, operation growth manager of Dunbeath and District Centre.

Dunbeath Heritage Museum also displayed a range of Coronation-themed art by local children including a giant collage of the king’s head and a suncatcher display for the window. The work was funded jointly by Dunbeath Centre, Dunbeath Heritage Centre, Dunbeath and Berriedale Council and Dunbeath and Berriedale Development Trust.

A King’s lunch in Dunbeath Community Centre was attended by 80 people while members of 1st Wick Scout Group also celebrated with a fun tea party.

Sisters Lily Macgregor and Jane Bremner, meanwhile, had a double celebration, dressing as king and queen for a Coronation party at the Monday Club at Wick Youth Club that also marked the former’s 93rd birthday.
