PICTURES: Miller Academy Primary pupils shows their support for London Marathon effort

Children at Miller Academy Primary in Thurso showed their support for Highland Council's head of education Nicky Grant ahead of last Sunday's London Marathon.

Ms Grant was due to run in London along with tens of thousands of other runners. She had hoped for 26 schools across the Highlands to join her by running a mile last Thursday – one for each full mile in the marathon.

But, according Miller's head teacher Jacqui Budge, 50 signed up to take part. She said: “Our children normally walk our Miller Mile (or less for our younger ones) each day, as part of our health and wellbeing learning and so we were delighted to be able to do this on the 20th with Nicky and the London Marathon in mind.

"The weather was perfect and all of our children that joined in from P2-P7 and all of our staff did brilliantly.”
