Fire services were seen yesterday afternoon extinguishing the remains of a fire in a building beside the children's playpark in the village.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 2.31pm on Tuesday, 18 October to reports of a fire within a changing room at Watten Park, Caithness.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene to extinguish a small fire. There were no reported casualties."
