Pupils at Bower Primary School celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by holding an outdoor assembly and barbecue.
The event took place in the glorious sunshine of Bowermadden on Thursday, ahead of the jubilee weekend.
The pupils, led by class teachers Vicki Ross and Claire Henderson, gave a presentation about the royal family to a large audience which included many of their family members.
Parent Scye Erridge said it was an event that families had been very much looking forward to.
Members of Bower Primary School Parent Council served burgers and sausages followed by strawberries and cream.
The school was presented with a jubilee cake by local confectionery specialist CC Chocolatier and pupils also received memorabilia marking the Queen's 70-year reign.
Highland councillor Willie Mackay attended, while Caithness artist Lisa Weller shared her creative expertise with face-painting and jubilee art activities.
Chef Martin Duffy, who works at the Castle of Mey, made royal shortbread especially for the occasion.
Active schools coordinators Juvenal Dufaur and Gary MacDonald, who have helped develop sporting and active opportunities, were also there.
Pupils gave their families a tour of the school.
Head teacher Fraser Thomson said: “To finally have our families in on such a special occasion was magnificent. The pupils showed such confidence to present in front of such a large audience.
"It was lovely to see our families socialising in our school grounds and for pupils to play with their friends and younger siblings. What the staff team and parent council have done to help prepare for the event is nothing short of miraculous and we are most grateful to them.”
