A Wick care home resident said it was a dream come true as he got the chance to sit on a powerful motorbike.

Willie Cuthbertson was thrilled when the opportunity arose during a visit to Seaview House by members of Back O Beyond MCC.

The generous local bikers handed over a donation of 45 Easter eggs – one for each resident.

It was the second year in a row they had given eggs to the home. Staff and residents were delighted as the motorcycles came roaring into the car park.

Willie said: “I have always wanted to sit on a motorbike, and today my dream came true.”

Other comments from residents included “totally amazing” and “this is bringing back so many good memories”.

The bikers took time to chat to residents and answer questions about their bikes before they went thundering off.

Back O Beyond members give a lot of support to good causes and, as well as their Easter weekend visit to Seaview House, they held a fundraising event that generated more than £1000 for local charities.

Seaview House activities coordinator Mandy Wilson said: “The visit was all about community spirit and people's generosity. It was great fun for everyone and the looks on their faces said it all, to be honest. It was amazing.

"Our staff and residents really got involved with the visit and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

Seaview House, run by Barchester Healthcare, regularly holds events and activities for residents and their families.
