Brandon McPhee brought a cheerful smile to residents and staff at Seaview House care home in Wick when he turned on their very own Christmas lights.

Manager of the Barchester-run care home Gayle Magennis had asked the country music star from Castletown to officially turn on the Seaview lights, which he was delighted to do – as he had never done a tree lights switch-on before!

Brandon, who recently released a Christmas song, Merry Christmas Elvis, also gave the residents a wee concert while staff and families joined in with singing and even some dancing.

Activities coordinator Mandy Wilson said: “We absolutely love Christmas here at Seaview House, it is such a special time and we all love decorating the home and having a lovely tree decorated by the residents every year.”

Resident Margaret Jappy said: “The tree is beautiful, the home looks so festive – I had fun helping to decorate the tree.”

Seaview House says it activity programme helps to keep residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Seaview House is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.
