WPS Parent Council secretary Donna Sinclair said: "The event began with the Care and Learning Alliance (CALA) run Watten ELC singing summer songs.

"Primary school children performed their festival entries supported by councillor Raymond Bremner which included verse speaking, violin, trumpet, P1-3 class song 'Wheels on the Bus' which highlighted the state of the roads and what can happen to the bus and bus driver as a result and the whole class song 'The Wellerman'.

"The Primary 7s received personalised poems and a gift from headteacher Linsey Mackay and the rest of the school sang a goodbye and good luck song. The event was well attended, donations invited, and the audience played some games and attempted some Tunes on the Spoons performed by Willie Mackay. Teas, coffees and pancakes were donated by Tesco Wick and parents donated delicious baking. Thank you to all who attending and donated raising over £550 on the night."

Donna's husband, Martin Sinclair, is chair of the school's parent council and this is their final year in those roles.
