The May meeting of Banniskirk SWI had Lucy Wilson of Burning Love Gifts & Design along to demonstrate how to undertake pyrography and weaving.

Lucy showed the members her designs on wood and also on a leather handbag. She encouraged all the members to have a try at burning their names onto a wooden chopping board.

She then showed members how to weave an alpaca fleece into a cushion cover. The members that tried this thoroughly enjoyed it and found it very therapeutic.

Lucy then judged the competition entries – Jar of lemon curd: 1 Christine Tait, 2 Jan Falconer, 3 Kate Campbell. Marmalade loaf: 1 Vicki Kelly, 2 Jan Falconer, 3 Fran Manners. Ladies crochet item: 1 Fran Manners.

Raffle Winners: Jan Falconer, Anne Gunn, Lucy Wilson, Janis Coghill, Christine Tait, Mandy Macdonald, Kate Campbell and Irene Morris.

Tea hostess for the evening was Isobel Mackenzie.
