PICTURES: Adventurers begin epic Hike the Himalayas Trek in aid of Highland Hospice
An epic adventure through the Himalayas is under way for tireless fundraisers who have raised almost £58,000 for the Highland Hospice.
The 13 intrepid adventurers have finally begun their much-delayed Hike the Himalayas Trek on the roof of the world.
The challenge, in aid of the hospice, was originally set to begin back in 2020, only for the Covid-19 pandemic to intervene.
Further delays followed due to flight disruption.
But their much-anticipated adventure finally got under way this weekend, with the happy group of 13 enjoying spectacular scenery and weather for day one of their stunning challenge.
Day one took the group on a "challenging 12km trek" from Dharamsala to Kareri which included around 2600ft of ascent.

"The group have altogether raised an outstanding £57,524.52p. Good luck everyone and have the most amazing time!"
Following the successful completion of day one of their hike, the group camped overnight in "a lovely meadow in the Kareri Village".
