Pets of the Week – Oats and Rosie seek forever home
Balmore residents Oats and Rosie are described as a "lovely pair of dogs" and are looking for a quiet retirement home together.
They are both being cared for by the Scottish SPCA (SSPCA) Caithness and Sutherland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Balmore near Thurso.
Jack Russell terriers Oats and Rosie hadn’t been used to walking on leads previously but they have taken to it really well, say the SSPCA staff at Balmore. "They haven’t had much socialisation or experience of the outside world but both have been keen to cautiously explore new surroundings," said a SSPCA spokesperson.
"Both of these dogs have failing eyesight but can still sniff out a biscuit. They are both super active but do enjoy their home comforts. These little terriers would make great companions and don’t require an awful lot of exercise."
Staff say that the two aren’t keen on other dogs so would require a new home without other pets.

Can you give an animal a loving home? Every year the SSPCA’s Balmore centre provides a safe haven for all sorts of animals that have nowhere else to go. This can be for a variety of reasons – abuse, abandonment, death of their owner or even the simple fact their owner is no longer able to look after them.
While they’re loved at the Caithness and Sutherland centre, the staff want just one thing for the animals in their care – for them to find a loving forever home. If you think you’re that person and have room in your life for a pet, visit scottishspca.org/rehome/rehome
All rehoming is taking place online at the moment.
