Scottie is this week's pet of the week.
Scottie is this week's pet of the week.

Scottie is a handsome Jack Russell terrier cross looking for his forever family. He is currently being cared for by the Scottish SPCA Caithness and Sutherland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The society would like any potential adopters to live locally to the Caithness centre so that they can come and visit him several times prior to rehoming as he is very wary around strangers.

Scottie hasn’t had much socialisation or experience of the world and finds lots of everyday things overwhelming. He will need a new owner with lots of time and patience to grow his confidence.

Scottie has quite a long coat and will require his new owner to brush and groom him regularly. He needs to be kept on a lead at all times, especially around livestock. He was known to chase sheep previously and currently has no recall.

He is looking for an adult-only home with no other pets.

If you can give Scottie his new home, apply via the Scottish SPCA website: www.scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet/11186-scottie

  • Can you give an animal a loving home? Every year the Scottish SPCA’s Caithness and Sutherland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Balmore, near Thurso, provides a safe haven for all sorts of animals that have nowhere else to go. This can be for a variety of reasons – abuse, abandonment, death of their owner or even the simple fact their owner is no longer able to look after them. While they’re loved at the Caithness and Sutherland centre, the staff want just one thing for the animals in their care – for them to find a loving forever home. All rehoming is taking place online at the moment. If you think you’re that person and have room in your life for a pet visit scottishspca.org/rehome/rehome
