Scottie is a Jack Russell terrier looking for a new home.

He is currently being cared for by the Scottish SPCA Caithness and Sutherland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Balmore.

Scottie did not get the chance to experience much of the world before entering the care of the Scottish SPCA, and so finds lots of things overwhelming. The society is looking for someone who lives local to their Caithness centre so they can have plenty of visits to gain Scottie’s trust before taking him home.

Can you give Scottie his forever home?
Can you give Scottie his forever home?

He is an independent dog and prefers to play with his toys than receive cuddles. He has a long coat and will need regular grooming. He will have to be kept on a lead at all times, especially around livestock.

Scottie is looking for an adult-only home with no other pets.

* Can you give an animal a loving home? Every year the Scottish SPCA’s Caithness and Sutherland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Balmore, near Thurso, provides a safe haven for all sorts of animals that have nowhere else to go. This can be for a variety of reasons – abuse, abandonment, death of their owner or even the simple fact their owner is no longer able to look after them.

While they’re loved at the Caithness and Sutherland centre, the staff want just one thing for the animals in their care – for them to find a loving forever home.

If you think you’re that person and have room in your life for a pet, visit scottishspca.org/rehome/rehome

All rehoming is taking place online at the moment.
