People in Caithness urged to get singing for Children in Need
THIS year’s BBC Children In Need will see youngsters from right across Scotland coming together to Sing for Pudsey – and BBC Scotland are looking for the public to get involved.
Children between the ages of 10 and 17 are already forming a choir in the lead-up to this year’s charity night and will come together at BBC Scotland’s Pacific Quay headquarters on Friday, November 18, to perform, not only to Scotland but also as part of a UK choir.
BBC Scotland is now asking for people of all ages and all backgrounds to form a choir with colleagues or friends, raise some money with their own performance, and send the footage in. It could then be used on the night and featured in a BBC One Scotland highlights programme on Saturday, November 19.

The BBC Scotland ensemble will form part of a 2500 strong choir in which children across the UK will sing simultaneously to back youngsters in London who are currently being taught to sing and have confidence on Gareth Malone’s CBBC Show The Big Performance.

Executive producer of this year’s Children In Need in Scotland, Graham Mitchell, said: "We have made a huge effort to get children from all round Scotland to take part in our choir. What we want now is for other groups right across the country to follow their example and get singing for Pudsey."
This year’s BBC Children In Need in Scotland will be presented by Jackie Bird, live from Pacific Quay in Glasgow. She will also present the highlights programme for BBC One Scotland.
There will also be a whole host of Children In Need special programming on BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Alba and Radio Nan Gaidheal – with more details released in the coming weeks.
