THE parents of Kevin McLeod, the young Wick man whose body was found in the town's harbour 23 years ago, will be appearing on TV on Thursday evening.

June and Hugh McLeod will be taking part in a live broadcast of Scotland Tonight on STV at 7.30pm. They will be talking from their home to presenter Rona Dougall, who will be in the Glasgow studio.

The programme will look at the mental and physical impact the family has borne over two decades while trying to seek justice for Kevin, who was 24 when he died. The programme will also include other Scottish families' campaigns for answers.

Kevin's uncle, Allan McLeod, said: "All those in authority, who clearly had known at an early stage that police had failed to act on the then procurator fiscal's specific instruction to investigate Kevin’s death as a murder, should hang their heads in shame for concealing this serious failure by police from our family for two decades.

"No parent in Scotland should have to go through the pain and suffering that Kevin’s parents have endured to get truth and justice for a loved one. We hope that Merseyside Police, who are carrying out an independent investigation, will finally give us the answers that we have been seeking for 23 years."
