Two Wick men are to stand trial in Inverness on charges of serious assault and threatening or abusive behaviour.

Damon Mackay (22), of West Banks Terrace, and 25-year-old Hayden Mackay, of Huddart Street, both Wick, are accused of assaulting Adam Sherry at the Silver Darlings pub, in the town.

They are alleged to have repeatedly punched and kicked him on his head to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

The pair are further accused of threatening or abusive behaviour and engaging in a fight with Mr Sherry. Both have pleaded not guilty to the indictment.

The prosecution and defence cases were said to be fully prepared at Wick Sheriff Court on Tuesday and the case was remitted to Inverness Sheriff Court on a trial date yet to be fixed.
