TWO young males have denied attacking a 17-year-old girl at Dunnet beach to the danger of her life.

At Wick Sheriff Court on Thursday Gary Gallacher (21), of Perth Prison, and a 15-year-old pleaded not guilty to assaulting Kelsey Johnson on June 7. They are accused of pulling her hair, forcing her to the ground, sitting on top of her, repeatedly punching her, forcing sand into her mouth to restrict her breathing and putting their hands round her throat and strangling her, whereby she lost consciousness. It is further alleged they spat at her and kicked sand onto her, all to her injury and danger to her life.

The trial for Gallacher, who was remanded in custody, and his co-accused, who was given bail, was set for September 30.
