Over 50s jobs fair in Wick

A jobs fair was held at the council offices in Wick to support people over 50 access training, volunteering, and employment opportunities.

The event was held between 10am and 2pm in Highland Council offices at Caithness House in Market Square, Wick and 71 members of the public attended.

Focus North was in attendance to "highlight the many opportunities for employment and economic growth in the far north" and raise the profile of the organisation and how it can support the region.

Peter Faccenda, Focus North programme manager said: “The Focus North team were delighted to support yet another successful jobs event in the north of mainland Scotland.

"It’s so important that we promote the fantastic employment opportunities in new and emerging sectors across the region such as, opportunities in renewable energy, the space industry, environmental science and peatland restoration.”

Exhibitors included Caithness Collection; Venture North; Skills Development Scotland; Home Start Caithness; Mackays Hotel; Befrienders Highland; Highland Council; UHI; Pulteneytown People’s Project; NHS Highland and Focus North.
