Caithness Health Action Team (CHAT) received an early Christmas present when members of a Thurso community organisation handed over a £1000 cheque.

Ormlie Girls, who are part of the Ormlie Lodge Club, have for many years raised funds and given a donation to a charity or group close to their hearts. This year they chose CHAT.

The sum presented by the Ormlie Girls included a contribution from the Sunday Club, a group of men who meet up socially on a Sunday.

After accepting the cheque outside the club, CHAT chairman Ron Gunn said: "A huge thank-you to Ormlie Girls and the 'boys' of the Sunday Club who decided to give CHAT an amazing £1000."
