Ten members of Caithness Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club travelled to Orkney for their annual road run.

They went to Highland Park distillery on the outskirts of Kirkwall as part of their tour and called in at a number of farms. They also visited the museum on Hoy as well as another museum about the Churchill Barriers.

Sponsorship towards the trip was provided by NorthLink Ferries.

Other club activities recently have included visits to John O'Groats and Scrabster.

The club's vice-chairman Brian Polson presented a cheque for £100 to tractor enthusiast Pete Burdass before he set off on his Little Grey Fergie Challenge from John O'Groats to Land's End, raising funds for people affected by motor neurone disease.

The club enjoyed a visit to the Thurso RNLI station where they were shown around the lifeboat and members of the crew answered many questions.
