The Bower Show returns this Saturday with attractions including a dog show, stalls, vintage vehicles, fancy dress, archery and live music.

Also on the programme are the Scottish Bale-Pushing Championships and organisers say it is shaping up to be the best show yet.

It begins with the dog show at noon (entries from 11am), followed by the crowning of the show king. The king and his attendant will make an appearance on stage at 1.30pm.

There will be a host of displays and activities including the fancy-dress competition, children’s races, stalls, Caithness Archers, a vintage tractor display and classic cars.

Pentland Brass Band will be performing a set during the day, with Rain in Summer playing in the evening.

The bale-pushing championships, for teams of four, will get under way at 6pm.

Dorothy Allan, from the show committee, said: “It really is a fun day out for all the family. Caithness Archers will be on the field to keep you on target, while the vintage cars will take you back to your youth.”

Entry is again £2 for adults and £1 for children.

Details can be found on the Bower Community Centre Facebook page.
