Thrumster WI have had their first face-to-face get together since October, when they first went online with meetings using Zoom.

They met in chairwoman Meg McGill's garden to organise the distribution of knitted and crocheted squares which have been sewn together to make blankets, which are being donated to Riverside Nursing Home and other people in the community.

Meg explained that during lockdown they had carried on with their meetings online and also had weekly virtual coffee mornings and a sewing bee once a month.

She said: "At first we found it a bit strange, but as the months past we got used to it. We even managed to carry on having demonstrations online."

They have arranged another outdoor face-to-face event with a walk about and treasure hunt for women in the village on Wednesday, June 9.
