One man dead following major A9 crash south of Inverness, police confirm

A MAN was killed in a major crash on the A9 south of Inverness yesterday, police have confirmed.
The 18-year-old, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene following a crash between a car and lorry near Dalmagarry at around 6.05am on Friday.
The man was the only occupant of the car. The driver of the lorry was uninjured. Next of kin have been informed.
The road was closed until around 11.15pm while officers inspected the scene and repairs to the carriageway were carried out. Police said their enquiries into the full circumstances surrounding the crash remain ongoing.
Sergeant David Miller, from the Dingwall Road Policing Unit, said: “At this time, our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the deceased, along with everyone else affected by this incident.”
