An Aberdeen-based oilfield equipment firm with premises in Caithness has branched out on the other side of the world by opening a new office in Australia.

EnerQuip Ltd has created EnerQuip Torque Solutions PTY Ltd to serve a growing client base in the Asia-Pacific region, with Craig Jackson making the move from Scotland to head up operations on the ground.

The company manufactures torque machines at its facilities in Aberdeen and at Smerlie, Lybster.

The move follows a recent major portfolio expansion with the acquisition of the AMC product line from Forum Energy Technologies.

Commenting on the opening of the Australian office, EnerQuip managing director Andrew Robins said: “We have worked hard to forge a strong reputation in this region and a permanent physical presence there will be invaluable in correctly positioning ourselves to serve a growing number of clients in that part of the world – whether new, existing or acquired as a result of our recent expansion.”

Mr Jackson said: “I am delighted to be playing a part in growing the EnerQuip Ltd brand in and around Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region, and I look forward to helping deliver an expanding range of excellent products and services in an exciting marketplace.”

EnerQuip specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of torque machines and associated products. Fabrication and welding for the torque machines takes place at the Lybster workshop where 10 people are employed.

Overseas projects accounted for some 95 per cent of the company's work in 2021.

It now employs more than 70 people altogether.
