Offers over £119,000 sought for one-bedroom cabin beside Noss Head lighthouse
A one-bedroom cabin beside a Caithness lighthouse is on the market for offers over £119,000.
The Lighthouse Keeper's Cabin at Noss Head is described by the selling agents as newly renovated and in a "spectacular location" close to the North Coast 500 tourist route.
They suggest it would be suitable as an artist retreat or a holiday home.
The cabin is being marketed by Sylvyn Property and is advertised on the Rightmove property website.
It says the cabin is around three miles from Wick and is "located at the end of Noss Head, a peninsula on the north-west [sic] coast of Caithness overlooking Sinclair's Bay".
The description also points out: "The property has undergone extensive renovations over the last year with brand new electrics, plumbing and insulation throughout.

"Internally there is an open-plan kitchen/living space leading to a double bedroom with en-suite facilities. It is a compact and well configured space with built-in storage.
"The neighbouring property is rented through Airbnb and this would be a viable option for the Keeper's Cabin.
"It is a rare opportunity to buy a bit of lighthouse history. The lighthouse was built by Mr Arnot of Inverness with the construction being overseen by the notable lighthouse engineer Alan Stevenson (uncle of Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson). The Keeper's Cabin is a later addition from the 1960s."
Stephen and Ben Makin, who live at Noss Head, have pointed out that they do not own any of the properties for sale there.
"We love living in Caithness and have no plans to move," they said. "We look forward to welcoming any new neighbours, and advise anyone interested to contact the vendors direct.”
