Number of confirmed Highland coronavirus cases up by seven to 65

Fifty further coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Scotland, taking the total to 126 since the outbreak began.
The rise in fatalities came as seven new Covid-19 cases were diagnosed in the Highlands, taking the number of people confirmed as being infected in the region to 65. The true number of cases is believed to be much higher.
In total 2602 people have now tested positive across Scotland – rise of almost 300 on the 2310 who had been diagnosed by the same time on Wednesday.
More than 15,500 tests have been carried out across Scotland since the pandemic began.
Elsewhere, among other northern health boards, there were a further 20 confirmed cases in the Grampian area, taking its confirmed cases to 128. Figures remained static in Shetland (30), the Western Isles (3) and Orkney (2), with no new cases diagnosed overnight.
The area with the biggest rise in cases was Tayside, which now has 307 cases following a further 53 diagnoses.
Greater Glasgow and Clyde continues to have the most confirmed cases with 682 – up 50 since yesterday.
