A NORTH Sutherland farm has been named as a finalist in AgriScot’s inaugural Scottish Sheep Farm of the Year competition.

Armadale farm, where Joyce Campbell runs 780 North Country Cheviot ewes, has made the shortlist alongside three other contestants.

All four farms are now to receive a visit from the award judges to help them decide which will receive the accolade on November 18.

AgriScot chairman Andrew Moir said: “We are absolutely delighted with the quality of the entries that we received. Our Sheep Farm of the Year award is about promoting positivity in the sector, showcasing and celebrating how farmers make the most of their farming systems.

“The finalists, selected by our panel of three independent judges, have put real effort into telling us their story and showing how what they do on farm ensures their sheep enterprise has solid credentials.”

AgriScot, the farm business event for all farmers and all sectors takes place at Ingliston, Edinburgh.
